The secret diary of Hector and Rufus.........having a post-prandial snooze

Well! What a day. Tis the male peep's birthday and such fun has been had. Thanks to Noah being here and being just a tad excited, we were all up early and once we had helped with the mucking out, we joined the male peep for present opening! We were distressed to see the arrival of yet another donkey but the look of delight on his face when he opened Noah's present was clear to all. Noah was also very pleased as it meant he could finally play with it.

The only two downsides of the present opening ceremony were that 1) nobody gave him any gravy bones and 2) Noah had hidden the present from his parents and despite turning home and hovel upside down, we still haven't found it and Noah says he cannot remember where he put it for 'safe-keeping.'

It will bring great joy, we are sure when it turns up in August......

There was of course birthday walk, followed by birthday lunch, birthday afternoon tea and now we're waiting for birthday supper, with great expectations as sausages were spotted at 16.00h on the second shelf down of the fridge.

We hadn't realised that the fire brigade were coming to afternoon tea but the heat generated by the candles (number indistinct and also incorrect if any of you are beagle-eyed enough to count them) caused a slight furore but they were charming peeps and easily pacified by a slice of cake, a cup of tea and a piece of pancake which fell down off the ceiling.

The female peep says she is in need of a lie down but we don't know why. It's not as if she's done much today........and the tartes au citron she has made almost look like the photo in the recipe book....oh hang on we're looking at the wrong page.

Love and licks
